Elite Four Strategy Guide
After getting through the Indigo Plateau, you will be at the entrance of the Elite Four. In there you are able to heal your pokemon, switch them out & buy the necessary items to help conquer the Elite Four.
Recommend items & amount:
Full heal - Cost 600 yen (Heals a pokemon from a status problem) x10
Full restore - Cost 3,000 yen (Heals pokemon fully & clears status problems) x5
Max potion - Cost 2,500 yen (Fully heals one pokemon's HP) x10
Revive - Cost 1,500 yen (Revives a fainted pokemon) x10
Elite Four Will
Will is the first Elite Four member you'll be facing. He specializes in Psychic-typed Pokemon.
Will's Party
- Xatu - Lv. 40 (Flying/Psychic), 1466 Exp
- Exeggutor - Lv. 41 (Grass/Psychic), 1863 Exp
- Jynx - Lv. 41 (Ice/Psychic), 1204 Exp
- Slowbro - Lv. 41 (Water/Psychic), 1441 Exp
- Xatu - Lv. 42 (Flying/Psychic), 1539 Exp
5040 yen
Strategy
A good recommended pokemon team (or move type) to work with is; Ice, Fire, Dark, Electric & Bug.
What I would recommend is a strong dark pokemon like Umbreon with Dark Pulse or a Murkrow or Honchkrow with Night Slash to take out Will's pokemon without any trouble.
Elite Four Koga
Koga was originally the fifth gym leader in the Kanto region (Fuchsia City Gym). He specializes in Poison typed pokemon.
Koga's Party
- Ariados - Lv. 40 (Bug/Poision), 1149 Exp
- Venomoth - Lv. 41 (Flying/Poision), 1212 Exp
- Forretress - Lv. 43 (Steel/Bug), 1087 Exp
- Muk - Lv. 42 (Poison), 1413 Exp
- Crobat - Lv. 44 (Flying/Poison), 1923 Exp
5280 yen
Strategy
A good recommended Pokemon team (or move type) to work with is: Psychic, Fire & Ground.
For Koga's pokemon, I recommend having a Steelix with Earthquake & Rock Slide (Earthquake is useful against Forrestress & Rock Slide will be useful when going up against Venomoth & Crobat) & an Espeon with Psychic to take a heavy advantage.
Elite Four Bruno
Bruno will be the third opponent you fight in the Elite Four. He specializes in Fighting-typed Pokemon.
Bruno's Party
- Hitmontop - Lv. 42 (Fighting), 1242 Exp
- Hitmonlee - Lv. 42 (Fighting), 1251
- Hitmonchan - Lv. 42 (Fighting), 1260 Exp
- Onix - Lv. 43 (Rock/Ground), 995 Exp
- Machamp - Lv. 46 (Fighting), 1902 Exp
5520 yen
Strategy
A good recommended pokemon team (or move type) to work with is; Psychic, Flying & Water.
I would Highly recommend an Espeon with Psychic moves & a decent Water type pokemon (maybe Feraligatr) With Surf or Hydro Pump to clear out that Onix.
Elite Four Karen
Karen is the last member of the Elite Four that you'll face before Lance. She specializes in Dark-typed Pokemon.
Karen's Party
- Umbreon - Lv. 42 (Dark), 1773 Exp
- Vileplume - Lv. 42 (Grass/Poison), 1656 Exp
- Gengar - Lv. 45 (Poison/Ghost), 1832 Exp
- Murkrow - Lv. 44 (Dark/Flying), 1009 Exp
- Houndoom - Lv. 47 (Dark/Fire), 2055 Exp
5640 yen
Strategy
A good recommended pokemon type (or move type) to work with is; Fighting, Bug, Fire, Psychic (recommend only for a move) & Ice.
This Elite Four may be a challenge, so I would Recommend a Murkrow with U-turn, Fly or Aerial Ace, Night Slash & Protect To Clear out Umbreon, Vileplume, & Gengar, then have a Feraligatr with Outrage, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump (or Surf) & Slash to help take out Murkrow & Houndoom.

- Gyarados - Lv. 46 (Water/Flying), 2109 Exp

- Aerodactyl - LV. 48 (Rock/Flying), 2078 Exp
- Charizard - LV. 48 (Fire/Flying), 2150 Exp
- Dragonite - LV. 50 (Dragon/Flying), 2336 Exp
10000 yen
Strategy
A good recommended pokemon type (or move type) to work with is; Dragon, Electric, Rock & Ice. I recommend a Feraligatr with Outrage, Hyrdo Pump, Ice Beam & Slash (this will be of most use because Outrage & Ice Beam have such a heavy affect on his Dragonites & Hydro Pump or Surf has a heavy affect on Aerodactyl & Charizard).
