Farfetch'd Puzzle
You will need to catch two Farfetch'd in order to earn HM01 Cut. Every time you step on a pile of logs, Farfetch'd will change the direction it's looking at. The goal is to approach it from behind (while it is facing the same direction as you) and press A.
Strategy for Both the Farfetch'd: Don´t go directly to the farfetch. Step on the branches before the right stone. The farfetch will turn to see what was that. Then go around the small forest and press A from behind him. He will run to his owner. Then the second one, scare him to the right corner. Then go up and step on the branches above and on the other side of the trees. Then go back the same way without touching any branches. Press A from behind him and you will be back to the owner. A new guy will give you the HM01 Cut.

Spiky-Eared Pichu Event
If you were lucky enough to get one of the Event Pikachu-Coloured Pichus, then you can also get a Gizamimi (Notched Ear) Pichu in HG/SS. Simply have at most 5 pokemon in your party, and place the Pikachu-Coloured Pichu at the start of your party. Then go to Ilex Forest and make your way towards Celebi's Shrine (the wooden structure that looks like a tiny house, found after the cuttable tree where you get HM01 Cut). Once there, the Gizamimi (Notched Ear) Pichu will come from behind the shrine, and a cutscene will play of both Pichus running around together. When this finishes, you'll have a new Gizamimi (Notched Eared) Pichu in your party.
Celebi Event
The Celebi Event allows players to go back 3 years and experience events before the happenings of Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
To activate the event, simply have a Celebi (to be given out at future events) in the First Slot of your party. Now simply walk up to the Shrine in Ilex Forest to begin the event. Your Rival (Ethan/Lyra) will come up to you and talk to you. Then the screen will start flashing, and Celebi will take you back in time.
The first place you arrive is at Route 22 (Three Years Ago) in Route 22.
You overhear a talk with your Rival (Silver - Red Haired) and Giovanni, his father. His father is leaving him, as Silver does not want to take part in Team Rocket. Soon after the conversation ends and Giovanni will walk to the West (Left) and Silver will walk past you, make a remark and push you out the way. The screen will flash and Celebi will take you through time once again.
You now arrive 3 Years After the first event, and are in a cave.
Giovanni is here listening to a Radio with Team Rocket calling out for him. After a while Giovanni turns round to you then challenges you.
Giovanni's Team
Nidoking - Level 42 Honchkrow - Level 43 Nidoqueen - Level 46 Kangashan - Level 40
It is recommended to use an all out Team for Giovanni, though a Fire Pokemon is recommended for Nidoking and Nidoqueen. For Kangashan you can use a water Pokemon and Honchkrow would be beaten easily with an electric Pokemon.
After you defeat Giovanni he will tell you that you remind him of the kid that defeated him 3 Years Ago (Your Character from Leaf Green/Fire Red/Red/Blue/Yellow/Green) He will then leave the cave and then Celebi will take you back to normal time and you can continue with your game.
