How do I catch the Farfetch'd in Ilex Forest?
You can only catch them when you are behind them and they are facing the same direction as you. Walk around and you'll notice that stepping on some tiles -- log piles in particular -- will cause a Farfetch'd to change the direction it's facing. Use this to your advantage.
How do I enter Goldenrod Gym?
Go to the Radio Tower and talk to the woman at the reception counter. You have to answer a five-question quiz before Whitney will return to her gym. If you lack Japanese reading comprehension, the answers to the third and fifth questions are false. The rest are all true.
How do I get past the Rocket Guard in the Radio Tower (after completing Mahogany Gym?)
Head to the Underground Path to where the photographer usually is. You'll get a Rocket Grunt uniform. Then head back to the Radio Tower. Be prepared for a battle, as your rival will expose you and you'll have to fight the guard.

Find the old man's granddaughter in the captain's room--you already knew that. (To get the sailor to move, defeat another sleeping sailor in one of the rooms.) The girl will be hiding in a nook in the leftmost hallway of the lower deck, and you'll have to talk to her once more.
