The GB Player
In the Celadon Department store, you are given a Key Item called the GB Player, which allows you to change the HGSS background music into the classic music from the original Gold, Silver, and Crystal games. Songs like the Mart theme that weren't in the original games have been remixed to fit in with the Game Boy setting.

More details: You can get the GB Player after you have 16 badges. Go to the 3rd floor of the Celadon Mansion. Hibiki will be there. After she leaves, go talk with the guy that is working on the big globe.

Strategies: This is an easy gym. Get at least 2 firetype pokemon and a flying one. The only big trouble is Tangela that knows Ancient Power. All the others are a good target for practice with a fire or flying type pokemon.

Important Note: You don't rematch the Gym Leader at their respective gyms, but instead in the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City of the Kanto Region.
You must first meet Erika on the Celadon Fountain on Sundays Afternoons. She will be there talking with Jasmine (another cameo) and she will give you her phone number. You can then phone them for a rebattle (keep trying everyday and around different hours), and she will ask you for a "Date". Meet Her in the Fighting Dojo on Saffron City.
